Preparing for Senior Schools
Each child is well primed for senior school and all aspects of life by the time they reach the end of their journey at The Oratory Prep School.
Preparation combines online testing, interview practice and practice papers with a continuous journey of self-discovery through mentoring and a variety of tailored modules within The Newman Programme, including presentation skills.
Our Leadership Programme for Year 8 pupils helps cultivate entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork and strategic flair. These skills are finely honed throughout the year. Pupils fulfil their responsibilities with great pride in esteemed roles such as Head Boy and Head Girl, President of the School Council, Prefects, House Captains and Head of Orchestra.
This academic preparation combined with the enriched education through personal, social and emotional development, prepares our pupils for the senior school of their choice, including the most prestigious selective schools in the country.

Years 7 & 8 at Prep schools are such crucial years. Children should be able to make academic progress with minimal pressure and this is important. However, far more important, in our opinion, is what they learn about themselves as learners, as a friend to others, and as a person. This is the first major stage in a journey to full independence that will continue at Senior school. Starting this journey in a safe and supportive environment (in which the children are fully comfortable) at The Oratory Prep is as good as it gets.
